Thermal Label Printers

Thermal label printers are used for printing barcodes, receipts, shipping labels, logistics labels, bills of lading, food and deli service labels, and various identification documents.

Thermal transfer label printers require the use of a ribbon, which can be black or colored. The printhead heats the ribbon, causing the color to be transferred to the label.

Within thermal printers, there are four different types:

  • Mobile thermal printers –Used with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, on-board memory, rechargeable battery packs, and application-specific hot keys.
  • Desktop thermal printers – With a small footprint, desktop thermal printers are perfect for office use, point of sale, mailrooms, small manufacturing lines, laboratories, and other locations where space is at a premium.
  • Industrial thermal printers – For high speed, high volume, and/or flexible packaging applications, industrial thermal printers offer the performance and features you need.
  • RFID thermal printers – Offering both thermal label and barcode printing capabilities along with built-in RFID encoding, RFID thermal printers print and encode RFID labels in a single pass.
